Bodmin and District Horizon Club reflects on an exciting year

This year, the Bodmin & District Horizon Club partnered with Lanhydrock National Trust, gaining access to activities across the site through a free community pass, working with the community and volunteer manager Laurence Harvey.

Members participated in events like Meet the Machines, seasonal walks, and the allotment and litter picking group, which has become a regular weekly team effort to rejuvenate an overgrown plot. The group also completed a sponsorship walk at Lanhydrock, raising £427 for their allotment.

The club runs every Thursday evening at Bodmin College and continues to grow on a weekly basis with fun-packed weekly activities, such as dance workshops, live music, creature feature show, karaoke, bingo, painting nails, and much more.

The club has been supported this year by the Lions, Inner Wheel and localcommunity chest grants from Cllr Robin Moorcroft and Cllr Leigh Frost, community champion for Asda Jackie Lavender, and Martin Henderson - Morrisons community champion. We also had support from M.A.D Bingo community group with a donation of £500 and from the One and All Lodge for our annual Easter eggs.
