Bodmin Musical Theatre Company dazzles in summer production of CATS

An energetic performance filled to the brim with vitality, colour and song made for an exhilarating experience for a packed audience on opening night of Bodmin Musical Theatre Company's summer performance of CATS at The Beat.

Fabulously painted faces and sensational costumes against a stunning backdrop drew the audience into a feline fantasy where cat characters personified human experience, writes Barbara Brittain.

The highly talented cat cast convincingly portrayed the ups and downs of fascinating cats.

Highlights included the well-known numbers of ‘Memory’ and ‘Mr. Mistoffelees’ with glorious solo singing and magical dance. Other poignant moments came with a moving rendition from a theatre cat and its storyteller.

The intergenerational cast work as one, with many taking lead roles throughout the narrative and everyone giving their all. A truly memorable production.

The opening weekend performances seen in Bodmin continue in St Austell Arts Theatre on 5th and 6th September.
