Princess Pavilion’s Christmas Tree Festival welcomes the festive season

The Christmas tree has been used to celebrate the festive season for centuries, and continues to spread cheer in our homes and community spaces year-on-year.

Since the very early days of Pagan festivals, trees have provided a source of light and hope for generations of people whose beliefs were firmly rooted in the changing of the seasons, the working of the land and the messages of their respective gods.

Today, the Christmas tree represents the modern view of Christmas: twinkling lights, gifts from loved ones, precious decorations kept over the years now taking their place upon a branch. They evoke memories, provide joy, and offer endless excitement for little ones at home.

The Princess Pavilion Christmas Tree Festival

Back for winter 2025, a plethora of Christmas trees will line the gardens of the Princess Pavilion to create a magical display, representing different groups in the community.

From Sunday 30th November until Friday 2nd January 2026, visitors to the Princess Pavilion will be able to marvel at the trees, each uniquely decorated by a different local group or organisation to portray the part they play in the community. This year’s theme is ‘Swim and Sparkle’, which will celebrate Pendennis Leisure Centre and support its mission to create a health and wellbeing hub, along with a 25 metre swimming pool.

Also back this festive season is the memory/wishing tree in the foyer of the Princess Pavilion, which welcomes visitors to make a donation and hang a wish or memory up on the tree. This is a community effort, with donations supporting Miracle Theatre’s Small Miracles initiative, which is raising money to provide more youth theatre activities in the local area.

The festival will open on Sunday 30th November, with evening entertainment provided by Falmouth Secondary School and St Stithians Band.
