Right back at the beginning of the year saw us renovating and automating the historic layout at Bodmin General Station, home of the recently renamed ‘Bodmin Railway’. We are delighted to say it now runs as it once did thanks to a ‘Penny in the Slot’ feature we incorporated.

Once finished, we turned our attention to not only build our own layout, but more importantly somewhere to build it! We are pleased to report we now meet every Friday evening at Withiel Village Hall where we have been made most welcome.  

The big news of course is our being awarded over £3,000 in grant funding, which means we have been able to purchase new tools and all the materials to build our new layout. Our sincere thanks go to Cornwall Community Foundation and IMERYS for this generous funding. Not only that, just recently we heard that Hobby Trax, a railway model manufacturer and retailer, have agreed to sponsor our layout and will be producing a monthly feature in their online magazine telling the story of our exciting project.

Bosvenegh Model Railway Group is certainly steaming ahead!
