Falmouth Carnival floats make a welcome return to 2025 event

The Falmouth Carnival parade was a spectacle to behold, as audiences poured into the streets to catch a glimpse of the various floats, which made a very welcome return!

With the early evening summer sunshine beating down, it was perfect weather to get the 2025 carnival underway and Falmouth Week off to a cracking start.

Organised by Falmouth Marine Band, this year’s event celebrated the Spirit of Falmouth, encouraging the community to deliver fun, unique entries that reflected the weird, wonderful and very best of the town.

Floats returned after years of absence from the event. They were joined by numerous marching entries, plus some wonderful shop window displays throughout town. Community groups, clubs and organisations went all out to bring their ‘Spirit of Falmouth’ interpretations to life.

Winners of the Marching Parade were: 1st, Only Fools and Horses; 2nd, Gylly Wellbeing Swimmers; 3rd, Humpty Dumpty and his Wall.

Winners of the floats were: 1st, Kitty Gubbins High Street Bazaar & Candle Shop; 2nd, Embrace Cheer; 3rd, The Cornish Bank CIC.

Winners of the shop window display were: 1st, Dizzy; 2nd, Southpaw Dog Store; 3rd, Stacey Cremin Makeup Studio.

It is thought the carnival was the biggest the town has seen in a long time. It displayed true community spirit and was a triumph by the organisers and the town as a whole.
