On 11 October 2026, Claire and Nicky will join other teams for Beat The Trails 13 Tors – a challenging trek across the stunning Dartmoor landscape.

The 14-mile route will take the pair across the iconic moors, following a trail shaped by history, legend and the timeless beauty of Dartmoor.

But while the challenge promises spectacular scenery, Claire and Nicky will have a very important reason for putting their walking boots on: they are raising money for Marie Curie.

The charity provides vital care, comfort and support to people living with a terminal illness, as well as supporting their families during some of the most difficult moments in their lives.

Claire and Nicky hope their fundraising will help Marie Curie continue to be there for people when they need that support most.

The money raised through the challenge could help fund a range of Marie Curie services.

For example, £3 could help fund a meal for a patient in one of the charity’s hospices, while £26 could help fund an hour of bereavement support by phone or webchat.

A donation of £207 could help fund nine hours of overnight nursing care for a patient in their own home.

Claire said she and Nicky are looking forward to taking on the challenge and hope friends, family and the wider Bude community will get behind their fundraising effort.

The pair are now encouraging people to support their challenge with a donation, however large or small.

With the challenge just around the corner, Claire and Nicky will soon be putting their training to the test as they prepare to tackle 13 tors and 14 miles of Dartmoor.
