A feast for bookworms and creatives: North Cornwall Book Festival
North Cornwall Book Festival is a literary feast for all, set along the north Cornish coast, and returns this September to its usual haunts at St Endellion.
The event is Endelienta Arts’ annual literary festival, curated this year by author Tiffany Murray. This intimate weekend-long festival includes author events, live music, an art exhibition, a local artisan market and an ever-popular pop-up cafe.
The event gets underway with an evening performance in St Endellion Church by indie-folk/Americana band The Dunwells on Friday, 26th September. The following evening, singer-songwriter and composer Tom Hickox, applauded for his storytelling and rich baritone, will take to the stage.
Workshops throughout the weekend include writing mystery with SJ Parris, writing memoir with Tiffany Murray, Imagining Stories with Pascale Petit, Poetry and the Body with Katrina Naomi, and The Blank Page with Liz Kessler.
West Cornwall artist Deb Ramsay-Trease will be exhibiting her work inspired by Cornwall’s ancient landscapes, using a blend of oil and cold wax, acrylic and mixed media on canvas, paper and board.
A series of author talks will take place in the marquee on the Saturday and Sunday, from a glimpse into the stories that went into the 2025 Holyer an Gof shortlisted anthology ‘Cornwall in Short’, and a talk from award-winning historical fiction author of ‘The Land in Winter’, Andrew Miller; to Devonian thatcher Tom Allen’s discussion of his book ‘On the Roof’, and Cornish author Philip Marsden’s analysis of his latest book ‘Under a Metal Sky’. This and much more from a wide variety of writers and poets will captivate audiences throughout the weekend.
As always, the popular artisan market will be offering some wonderful treats to serve as a reminder of your time at the festival, the pop-up cafe will be serving up coffee, cake and lunches, and the festival book shop offers a chance to purchase headlining authors’ books, plus many more.
